How to use the Discussion Forums (bulletin boards)

The forums are divided into sections, each with topics containing related subjects. If there is a subject of interest to you, click on it to open the "board."

Posted messages are organized into things called "threads," which are essentially strings of thoughts. When you open a "board," you may see a list of threads grouped together by a common subject heading.

You can start a new thread within a subject by clicking on the "New Thread" button. If you do so, give the thread an appropriate title (for example, "Black Widow Bows" under the "Bows" section). Then type in your thoughts in the large message box below it. You may preview the final appearance of your message by clicking on the "Preview Post" button. If you see a glaring error, you may correct it at this time. When you're finally satisfied with your message, go ahead and click the "Submit New Thread" button. [NOTE: if you're in a frivolous mood, you can click on one of the "smiley" icons and it will be shown alongside your posting!]

You may also join a thread already in progress. Simply click on the thread to read the chain of messages. If you'd like to add to the discussion, click on the "Post Reply" button.

For more detailed information on how to use the forums, please click on the FAQ button at the top of the Discussion Boards page. If you have any problems using the forums, please contact webmaster@bearstatearchers.com.
